Music Education Mission

Free music instruction that nurtures the talent, growth, and joy of children in need.

The purpose of the Cheerful Heart Music Education Mission is to share the love of God through music; to nurture the musical talent and the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth of children in need; and to bring joy to the underserved people of the area.

The Cheerful Heart Mission has a school of music in Loma de Cabrera, DR, where students receive free weekly instruction from local music instructors. A partnership with the Jacobs Virtual Academy (JAVA) at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music makes weekly online lessons available as well. The Mission also offers online lessons through JAVA to a community band in Tilori, Haiti. Musical instruments are donated and maintained by the Cheerful Heart Mission.

Each year, a team of music instructors from the United States travels with the Mission to teach, inspire, and motivate the young musicians in Loma de Cabrera, DR, and Tilori, Haiti.
